Sometimes, the fun and excitement of riding an ATV through rough wooded trails just isn’t enough when on your own. With the new Ranger RZR 4 from Polaris, you never have to traverse the trails alone again.
The industry’s first ever four-passenger Sport Side-by-Side vehicle, the Ranger RZR 4 gives riders the ability to carry multiple passengers while still maintaining the performance and power of the standard Ranger RZR family. The machine is fit with a powerful 800cc High Output Twin EFI engine and achieves a class-leading power-to-weight ratio. The Ranger RZR 4 seats the 4-stroke engine behind the rear seats to improve balance and agility with a lower center of gravity. Tipping the scales at only 1,255 pounds, this ATV remains lighter than many other two-passenger vehicles on the market. This power and lightweight frame team up to produce a machine that can reach speeds up to 60 miles per hour with rapid acceleration to boot.
Adding to the vehicle’s agility, the Ranger RZR 4 is fit with an extended travel suspension. Given an entire foot of ground clearance, the premium suspension uses new Fox Podium X 2.0 Piggyback Reservoir Shocks coupled with Chrome Moly A-Arms to give the ride more durability. In back the RZR 4 uses an anti-sway bar and dual rate springs to maintain a flat chassis on sharp turns. The rolled independent rear suspension creates an incredibly smooth ride even on the roughest terrain. And speaking of rough terrain, the RZR 4 has no problem taking down difficult passes thanks to Polaris’ true all-wheel drive system that kicks in automatically when the vehicle requires more forward traction.
The interior of the vehicle was granted an ergonomic design to improve the ride for all passengers. Class-leading tilt steering gives the driver 10 inches of range and a heel pocket for optimal control of the throttle. Passengers will enjoy the comfort of adjustable handrails, exclusive to the RZR 4 design, along with ample head room even in the back seats. Each bucket seat is interchangeable and adjustable, making the vehicle comfortable for all drivers. For added safety, each seat also includes protective side netting. The Ranger RZR 4 also comes decorated with graphics from Robby Gordon’s TORC truck raced at Crandon, Wisconsin, along with the Robby Gordon Off-Road logo brandished across the side panels. The race inspired graphics are exclusive to the Ranger RZR 4, making this vehicle one of the best-looking ATVs available.
While the standard RZR 4 ride is enjoyable as-is, you can add to the experience with a bevy of customizable options. Attach a half or full windshield to block out dust and sand for drier trails, or equip the vehicle with front and rear aluminum brushguards to protect it from debris and damage on narrow paths. With the windshield in place, strap on a poly or canvas roof – or go full out with a complete canvas cab – to make the RZR 4 enjoyable even in the rain. For hunters or other sports enthusiasts, attach the bed extender or cargo box to store more gear on the ATV while keeping the same comfortable seating space. The Ranger RZR 4 is available locally at Higgins Powersports of Barre and Performance Cycles in Shrewsbury.
